Professional Writing Services

You can see examples of my writing on my real-estate blog, Hooked on Houses.

Welcome to my webpage! I'm a professional writer who provides content for business and marketing textbooks. I also maintain a blog discussing real estate and housing trends and publish magazine articles (look for two of them coming soon in Kiki Magazine's Spring '08 issue).

I have a B.A. in English from Anderson University (Anderson, Indiana). While I was still a student, I snagged my first freelance editing gig at Que Books and spent the next five years turning out computer books with titles like Using Novell Netware and Using Microsoft Works.

In the years since, my writing and editing skills have been contracted by a variety of authors and organizations, including Sams Books and Writer's Digest Books (www.fwpublications.com). I acted as editor of Absolute Reference Monthly, a periodical geared toward IT professionals, and proofread bills for Indiana Legislative Services at the Indiana Statehouse, sometimes with the lawmakers themselves pacing anxiously behind me.

As the director of The Circle of Arts from 1997-2001, I organized and facilitated workshops for writers and artists in Cincinnati. I was interviewed on local radio and cable-TV programs on the topics of writing and creativity, hosted a popular support group for writers, and coached promising writers who went on to publish their own short stories, articles, and books.

Since then, I've worked primarily as a writer for college textbooks published by Thomson South-Western and Cengage Learning (www.cengage.com). Titles I've contributed to recently include Contemporary Business, Contemporary Marketing, Strategic Management, and Organizational Business. I write the pieces of the projects that the primary authors don't have time for, like the case studies, quizzes, and study guides, as well as online games and other Internet content.

These projects keep me busy, but if you have a writing project you'd like me to help you with, feel free to contact me with the details. If my schedule permits, I will consider it, especially if you have a topic that interests me. Thanks!
